The Yoeman wore a green coat with a hood. He carried a shield, sword, hunting horn tied to his belt, and bow and arrow across his chest. The arrows were colorful like a peacock and always faced down while the feathers faced the sky. His specialty was with wood but he also served a noble family. He may have had a tiny, brown head; however he was praised as a champion with a silver medal that rested on his chest.

"American Dream"

                Everyone has a different “American Dream.”An “American Dream” can be a goal a person is aiming for. My “American Dream” is to become a veterinarian. By taking the classes I need in college, I will be able to achieve my dream. In order to do that, the internet would help me stay on track however; finding a veterinarian job and getting the right education will be hard.

                Being a veterinarian is my dream. To find more information about it, I can use the internet. The internet can be useful. According to the article “Crazy” by Tony Dokoupil, “It made people happier and more productive.” The internet can make people stay on top of their stuff. It’s an easier and faster way to get information about something. However, the internet can be very distracting and addicting. In the article “Crazy”, Dokoupil says, “Teens fit some seven hours of screen time into the average school day; 11, if you count time spent multi-tasking on several devices.” That is, teens spend most of their time on the internet or on other devices. This can drastically affect my “American Dream” by making me procrastinate and spend all my time on the internet rather than taking the classes I need.
                Going to college and taking the right classes to become a veterinarian will help me achieve my “American Dream.” However, it won’t be as easy as it seems. According to the article, “Generation Screwed” by Joel Kotkin, “Student loans have grown consistently over the last few decades to an average of $27,000 each.” It would be harder to get the classes I need because of the increasing student loans. Not only are student loans rising, but in the article, “Generation Screwed”, Kotkin states,“The public debt constitutes a toxic legacy handed over to offspring who will have to pay it off in at least three ways: through higher taxes, less infrastructure and social spending, and, fatefully, the prospect of painfully slow growth for the foreseeable future.” The generation I am in is at stake because we have to sacrifice a lot in order to pay for taxes and other things that are growing each year. This can affect my “American Dream” because there is a chance I won’t have enough money to afford college.

                It is not easy to achieve ones “American Dream”, but it’s not impossible. My “American Dream” is to become a veterinarian. The internet can be easier and keep me organized however it can distract me and keep me from doing what I need to do. The economy isn’t the best, but if I manage my time and money well enough, I will be able to go to the school and take the classes I want. At this point, my “American Dream” will be hard to accomplish, but I won’t let anything get in my way from doing so.
